At the in-gate of a new year, I reflect on what I love about being a freelance riding coach.
- The barn aisle conversations about riding, family and life.
- I love driving! A transition window between lessons to consider my lesson plan, the unique personality of the horse and rider, and flip through my mental Rolodex of solutions to their horse puzzles
- Giving riders undivided attention – leaving my cell phone and distractions in the parking lot
- Wisdom gained – as I’ve “matured” as a riding coach over the years, I’m more inclined to meet riders in their goals rather than fit them into mine
