“Is it a need or a want?” –the Black Friday balance.

As the dust settles after the rush of Black Friday and the Visa bills arrive, I was thinking about how easy it is to get our credit and our lives out of balance in our consumer culture . Bling and brands – when I began judging I was struck by how little influence fashion trends had on my scorecard compared to performance and penalties!

Consumerism -use it and replace it..  “How can this product make me look good?” “How can this horse make me look good?”  or even “How can this person make me look good?

On being content with what (or who) you have:  “Gratitude and anxiety are mutually exclusive neural pathways. You physiologically cannot be grateful and anxious at the same time.” author Jerusha Clark.

The pull to buy that trending tack or push a show prospect too hard or even bounce to the next recreational relationship is magnified at the big horse show circuits and holidays. But when people cross the line from using stuff to using horses or people for their own success, without thought to the impact it’ll have on them, it’s out of balance.
