Family Day. Thinking of all the families who have been part of my barn family in many years of coaching riders! Teens riding, while mom and dad master leg bandaging and leg ups. Or one spouse in the saddle with the other driving the RV and videotaping the class. Horse shows can pull families together…and sadly, others apart.
A shared interest or a strain on finances. Time together on the nightly drive to the farm or, time apart as mom and daughter head for the horse show, while dad takes the boys to a ball tournament. As coaches, let’s do our part to support our families – they’re the building blocks of our community and nation in a messy world.
“….nothing less than the shaping of the bodies and souls of humanity, the family is the factory that manufactures mankind.” G.K. Chesterton
